One-Day Nutshell Technique Workshop: July 13, 2019

Learn what great movies are made of, and how to make your own scripts just as strong. In this 6-hour course, author and consultant Jill Chamberlain will teach participants how to identify the Nutshell Technique in films and then use the method in your own. Join us to gain a deep understanding of this groundbreaking method of analyzing and crafting a story’s structure. 

THE SCHEDULE

  • 10am-12pm — Jill walks through the Nutshell Technique and three-act story structure

  • 1pm-3pm — Volunteers will be called on to present their own nutshells to see if their scripts follow the technique properly

  • 3:30pm-5pm — Advanced application of the Nutshell Technique®

  • 5:15pm – Network with Jill Chamberlain and fellow writers at the bar

PARKING

At the Holiday Inn: $19 (you can enter and leave as many times as you wish)

  • There is free all-day parking on the street by the Holiday Inn on Angeleno Ave and Tujunga Ave, on the Holiday Inn side of the street.

  • There is a free city surface lot at 149 E. Angeleno directly across from the hotel. 

REFUND POLICY

  • If you submit a written cancellation request prior to the event date, your full tuition will be forfeited, but you may apply it to a future Jill Chamberlain group workshop in Los Angeles or in Austin within two years of your first scheduled workshop. 

  • If you do not submit a written cancellation request before the workshop date and fail to attend it, you will not receive any refund or credit, nor will you be able to makeup the workshop at a later date. 

TERMS OF SERVICE

  • Audiotaping or videotaping of the workshop is not permitted. 

  • All workshops have a minimum number of participants. If the minimum is not met, the workshop could be cancelled. 

  • In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the location, dates and/or times may be subject to change.
